Rosemary Laird, MD Gerontologist

r. Laird is a practicing physician and the Executive Medical Director of the AdventHealth Senior Health Program in Orlando. She has more than 20 years of experience in patient care with an emphasis in senior healthcare. Dr. Laird brings her years of experience and insight she uses with her patients everyday to her speaking on Patient Care, Compassion & Empathy, developing an effective workplace culture as well as caring for the caregivers. Being an Executive Medical Director adds to her administrative and leadership experiences.

Pernell Bush, MSW, CNP LCSW , Knowledge Empowers You (K.E.Y) Counseling Solutions

As a clinician Pernell believe one can decide if an issue requires immediate action and change or if it can-or must-be accepted for what it is while they learn to make behavioral changes that can positively affect their situation. He works with his clients to start the healing process through their own self-talk, or the way they talk about traumatic events, problematic relationships, toxic behaviors, physical limitations or other issues.

Cindy Prins, PhD, MPH, CIC, CPH, Assistant Dean for Educational Affairs, UF College of Public Health & Health Professions’, Clinical Associate Professor of Epidemiology

Cindy Prins, PHD, MPH, CIC, CPH, is the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions’ assistant dean for educational affairs and a clinical associate professor of Epidemiology. Dr. Prins received her PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology from Penn State University in 2000, where she studied replication of JC virus. She completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Florida, focusing on regulation of vaccinia virus transcription elongation.

Concurrently, she earned her MPH in the Epidemiology concentration from the College of Public Health and Health Professions at UF in the fall of 2006. After this she worked as an Infection Control Practitioner at UF Health Shands Hospital. Dr. Prins joined the Epidemiology faculty first as an adjunct lecturer in 2009 and then full time as a clinical assistant professor in the fall of 2010. Dr. Prins’ research interests include the prevention of healthcare-associated infections, including those caused by multi-drug resistant organisms, and compliance with vaccine recommendations. Dr. Prins is Board Certified in Infection Control (CIC) and Public Health (CPH).


Ken Grey, AP, DOM Holistic Physician

Dr. Ken Grey is a licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine / Acupuncture Physician. Dr. Grey has his masters in both Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine and enjoys being both a Holistic Physician and Author of Health in Balance books available via Apple iBooks, www.amazon.com (www.juiceandessence.com) and an educator. He has extensive experience in creative education teaching those with special needs including individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Autism. His unique approach to holistic healing has taken him abroad to lecture in Germany and treat sports professionals in Hawaii and France and locally onsite at the Honda Classic as well as at his office where he is sought after by golfing and tennis greats. Dr. Grey has lectured on Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Tai Qi, Reflexology and Women’s Health in relation to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Food Therapy and uses his experience in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to collaborate with physicians of Western medicine in treating the whole patient. Dr. Grey has been on staff at Jupiter Medical Center for over a decade where he has helped create a new paradigm in integrative medicine.


Gina Kearney

When we align our mind and body with our Spirit, we truly experience what it means to be healthy. Gina Kearny believes that Nature has given us all that we need, and that it is up to us to feed our bodies and cultivate practices that nurture and nourish us. Her journey has taken many twists and turns. Losing her Mother taught her that health is the most important thing in life, second only to Love. Her herbal teachers taught me to look to Nature for the answers. And her spiritual mentors taught her to connect with my inner guidance and wisdom to walk firmly on my path.


James E. Galvin, M.D., M.P.H.

James E. Galvin, M.D., M.P.H. is Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is Founding Director of the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health, Director and Principal Investigator of the Lewy Body Dementia Research Center of Excellence, and Chief of Cognitive Neurology for Palm Beach and Broward County leading brain health and neurodegenerative disease research and clinical programs. Dr. Galvin has authored over 300 scientific publications and 3 textbooks on healthy brain aging, cognitive health, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body dementia, and related disorders. Dr. Galvin has received over $100 Million in research funding from the National Institutes of Health, Alzheimer’s Association, Michael J Fox Foundation, American Federation for Aging Research, Lewy Body Dementia Association, Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Missouri, New York, and Florida Departments of Health, and numerous Private and Family Foundations.


Iris R. Cohen, MSW, LCSW

Iris R. Cohen, MSW, LCSW is a social worker and a Research Coordinator for the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and her MSW with emphasis on aging populations from Florida Atlantic University, serving as a Provost Fellow. Iris has expertise in mindfulness-based approaches and individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. She provides assistance with Advance Care Planning for patients and research participants. She coordinates the PACE-DLB study looking at challenges faced by patients and caregivers at the late stages of Lewy Body Dementia. She co-coordinates a study examining improvements in home health delivery to individuals with dementia and their family caregivers. Iris enjoys community engagement and is an avid football fan. Iris lives in Boca Raton, Florida with her husband Adam and her dog Jessie.
